There I was…standing up during a networking meeting, nervously sweating the moment coming up…
…the one where I was about to recite the dreaded “What I do is____” introduction.
This was back in the first year of my business and I didn’t have a freaking clue who I was or who I helped serve in a powerful way.
Somehow I stammered out a sentence or two. I think it was something about how I helped people change limiting beliefs.
Wow. Really?
So. Not. Powerful.
In a room full of my ideal clients, it felt as if I had an invisible barrier separating me from talking with them.
I nearly went broke that first year…
So very close to going broke that there came a moment where I had to make a powerful new choice…
At that moment I was at a crossroads of ‘do I or don’t I give up on this business?!’
What I did was take an honest look at who I was serving and the offer I was putting out into the world.
And in that moment I made two new, empowered choices:
Get a new ideal client (I call her my Perfect Client).
And start only offering premium coaching packages.
My new Perfect Client wasn’t “looking to change limiting beliefs”…she was looking for practical and insightful coaching to help her see past blind spots so she could create a successful business, doing work she’s passionate about.
Her idea of success?
Achieve her goals, make money she’s proud of, and enjoy a freedom based lifestyle.
With this new clarity I changed my coaching packages, changed my messaging and watched as my business turned around, practically overnight.
My point is simple: Often the only tweak needed inside of your coaching business is who you focus on as your Perfect Client and the packages you’re offering.
Perfect clients earn that designation because you LOVE working with them.
They’re willing to invest in coaching with you at a premium level of $5k+ per 6 month coaching package.
Perfect clients want to continue working with you in higher level packages.
And they even become an inspiration for others who are considering hiring you as their coach.
Can you see how if you were signing on new clients every month at THIS level, your income and your lifestyle would thrive?

Choosing the right Perfect Client frees you to charge what you’re worth, make significant income and simplify your business because you don’t need tons of clients or to chase after trying to create a big list.
