The Tall Poppy story is all wrong, here’s why…

by | Jul 12, 2018 | Coach Training

This morning I was thinking about the story of the Tall Poppy.

You know this one, right?

The original story told the tale of a tall poppy rising above all others.

Okay, so I get that it’s meant to sound inspiring, but I find instead it triggers feelings of competition and isolation.

Which is why I have a different take on this popular story…

What I believe is the tall poppy is a metaphor for YOU rising to your fullest potential, above old, outdated beliefs & circumstances that only keep you small.

When you focus on YOU rising, you effectively bypass competition and isolation, and instead, you invest your energy into cultivating your self-empowerment and exploring fresh opportunities to become YOUR best self.

To support you in this process, this is a powerful belief you can own for yourself:

You Being Successful Empowers Other Women To Do The Same.

For example, when I decided to be successful as a Soulful Business Coach, I had no idea I would end up being a leader, certifying hundreds of coaches in over 42 countries.

I didn’t know I was being a tall poppy by taking a stand for women charging what they’re worth, and that this would be a game changer for thousands of women, empowering them to stop under valuing their skills, and begin embracing the high-end coaching model.

And I didn’t know that giving voice to my beliefs and opinions would make me a thought leader in the coaching industry.

The point is this: the impact I’ve made came from decisions that felt simple at the time…

Decisions like: Be deeply soulful in my coaching by asking provocative questions, make significant income as a coach, rise up to my fullest potential and be visible.

Now it’s your turn…

Where are you holding back from thriving as a coach?

Where are you saying to yourself, “I don’t know if I can” …

…When you could be saying, “It’s my time to _______!”

Press reply and share your thoughts with me — I promise I read EVERY response.

And remember that being a tall poppy doesn’t mean you’re setting yourself above everyone else…

It means you’re fulfilling YOUR greatest potential and becoming a thriving, successful and soulful coach.
