Curious about what I do between coaching sessions?

by | Jul 31, 2018 | Coach Training

In a content-driven world we surge towards the practical.

The how to.

As if by reading a tip, we can magically create the business we want.

Sometimes, yes, it does work that way.

But more often, what we need is not a tip, but a touch to our soul.

In the spirit of that, here are 3 practical ways I reset my energy, intention and focus between delivering coaching sessions, leading group coaching calls and teaching classes.

Reset #1 Create Completion

I keep my client coaching notes in a 3-ring binder so between sessions I close the binder, even if it’s just for a moment, before opening it again for my next client call.

This gives you the opportunity to ‘start clean’ with your energy for your next client.

Reset #2 Shake It Off

If you have a tendency to take on other’s emotions, this is especially important for you.

In between my coaching sessions, leading group coaching calls or teaching my online classes I stand up, move around, go outside – whatever it takes to let go of any emotions I may have picked up in a session.

This keeps you feeling energized from coaching, instead of emotionally depleted.

Reset #3 Acknowledge Yourself

Did you know that positivity is one of the fastest paths to improving your coaching skills?

I recommend at the end of every session that you list 1 thing you did masterfully…and 1 thing you will do differently the next time.

This keeps your learning joyful, minus self-criticism.
