Last night on Netflix we cozied up on the coach and watched a documentary about feminism in the 70’s.
Mid-way through I turned to Richard and thanked him for watching it with me.
We heard story after story of women describing the pain of trying to conform, of seeing their only options to be a secretary, nurse or teacher…IF they couldn’t find a husband they could stay home and care for.
These were vibrant, creative women who had a passion not to make a difference, but to BE different.
These women had the audacity and courage to risk everything for their beliefs, in the face of a constant uphill fight.
But unlike what we have available to us now, what they lacked was a way of expressing themselves.
Yes, they could march, but to what purpose?
There were still only a limited handful of jobs or business opportunities available to them.
I had it luckier than most because during that time, my mom was expressing herself.
She went into business for herself when she was just 23, divorced, with 2 young kiddos just starting grade school.
I had the good fortune of witnessing first-hand what it looked like for a women to become a success, run her business, make her own decisions, work with premium clients, stay true to her values and integrity, and to make her own money.
There are about a billion things I learned from growing up with a mom who worked for herself and who was successful, but the one thing that stands out the most is that working for yourself gives you the ultimate freedom.
The freedom to BE different, to be self-expressed, to make amazing money, to have a wealth of choices available to you, and to have control of your life, because creating your own money means you have the power of the purse.
I never considered myself a feminist, and neither did my mom.
We are women who believe in using our God-given gifts, intuition, insights and wisdom for the greater good of helping, inspiring and empowering women to own their worth.
It’s my life’s work, expressed through my business of training and certifying women to be coaches.
Here’s the part where you come in:
Without a doubt, entrepreneurship is the new women’s movement…and it’s happening right now.
If you’ve chosen to be a coach, this is your moment.
Please, whatever you do, grab it!
Because every woman in business needs a coach.
Scratch that, not just any coach, but a Soulful Business Coach.
And you can be that coach.
Because for women, business success doesn’t come from a spreadsheet.
It comes from marrying the heart and soul of what we’re deeply passionate about, with practical business actions, that together, create a profitable business we love.
Whether you get your certified coach training with me, or somewhere else, don’t miss out on being part of the women’s entrepreneurial movement.
It’s the first time in history something like this has ever happened.
It’s an extraordinary time and one day, young women will look back and be inspired by US.
Amazing to think about, isn’t it?!
Oh, and my mom?
In addition to running her own business, she’s been a vital part of mine for the past decade, as one of my Master Coaches.
Every day she’s inspiring and modeling for our certified coaching students how to coach like a rock star and how to own their worth in the world.
The legacy continues…
xo,
Kendall
