I’ve led the coaching field in creating 7-figure income streams from both — numerous top selling courses and popular coaching programs — and while both have their virtues, it’s not a question of which one should you create, but what is the right order to create them.
Yes, there is a distinctive order you want to follow to keep from falling into a hole of work, work, work for little to no payoff.
Because your most precious resource in your business is YOU. Your time, energy and skill set.
I want to see you maximize your time and make significant income as quickly as possible!
So which do you create — a course or a coaching program?
I know courses are hot right now, and the idea of creating passive income is super appealing, but the truth is, creating, launching and filling courses is hard work, time consuming beyond belief, and takes a very long time to get off the ground with enough participants to actual make money.
Coaching programs – both 1-on-1 and group – can be created in a couple of days, command a higher price point, and take only a small number of clients enrolled to create substantial income and profit.
Can you see where I’m headed here?
My recommendation is to:
1. First create your 1-on-1 coaching offer.
Coaching private clients is highly lucrative, easy to enroll clients into, and quickly sharpens your coaching skills.
And right now, people are craving boutique coaching that gives them personal access so they can create results quickly.
Tip: Keep a journal of common problems your private clients experience, and questions they ask you. This is your golden ticket to creating a best-selling group coaching program or course down the road.
2. Next create your group offer.
Groups are hot for leveraging your time and creating a strong, vibrant community within your client base. Don’t think your group has to be large to be respectable. Groups as small as 3-5 people are well worthwhile to offer and are a great way for you to hone your coaching skills in this dynamic environment.
Tip: When you offer your group, raise your private coaching client fees. Access to work with you privately takes on more significance once you have a group in place.
3. Create your course.
Now is your moment to create a course that has a high likelihood of being a best-seller because you’re creating it around topics you’ve seen your clients hungry to learn about. And because your income is flowing in from private and group coaching clients, you can invest the time you need into creating your course. I have both courses that are for sale off of my website, and video training content that is only available to my private and group coaching content, making those programs even more valuable.
Tip: Best-selling courses teach a very specific ‘how to’ topic, step by step. Think micro-content, rather than trying to solve everything for you participants in one training.
If you’re serious about being a top earning coach then don’t be distracted by the online ‘course noise’. Follow this path I just shared with you and you’ll enjoy a lucrative, profitable coaching business that you’re proud of.
